This procedure is done with more frequency. It's a surgery considered relatively simple in the hands of
those with experience. This consists of augmentation of the breasts with implants of silicone gel. The
way these implants are placed is through an incision around the areola, under the breast and axillary;
an opening is done behind the mammary gland or behind the pectoral muscle, the implant is placed
and the incision is closed with stitched. The implants used now a days (last generation) are made of
Gel of High Cohesiveness that allows us to obtain a higher volume and an excellent contour; it also
offers a nice consistency at the touch with ultimately natural results. The candidates to these
procedures are those women that are not satisfied with their size, those that feel that their breasts are
small in proportion with the rest of their body, or those that have lost firmness and/or volume due to
pregnancies or over the years. It's very important to know that the implants do not prevent nursing,
sensitivity is not lost in the nipples and there is no association with breast cancer.
This surgery lasts about 1 hour, it is done in the operating room and it's ambulatory. Recovery takes
from 7 to 10 days. It's important to know that the implants that we use have a written lifetime
guarantee in case of rupture or capsular contracture, even with economical help in order to not pay
anything in case of replacing the implant.
