This procedure is done with local anesthesia, or it can also be done with general anesthesia when it's
done with another procedure such as Rhinoplasty; it takes approximately 1 hour and it's done
generally in women over the age of 16 and men over the age of 18 because before that age the facial
skeleton is still in growth. the incision can be done at the level of the oral mucosa of the inferior lip
(under the inferior teeth) or under the chin, they are small incisions that you cannot see, a pocket is
done in order to introduce the chin implant, it's sutured and it's necessary to use a micropore band to
maintain the implant in its place.
The cares are minimal and the patient can walk out of the surgery and return to the daily activities the
next day. The changes are notorious immediately even though a period of time is necessary for the
swelling to reduce and this takes about 1 to 2 weeks.
