The Rhytidectomy or Facial lift: is a process that gives the patient a rejuvenation in his/her face,
softening lines of expression and diminishing the wrinkles, this way improving the aspect of aging and
fatigue. This facial rejuvenation can include the neck in specific patients, giving them a young aspect.
This procedure must be done by an Experimented Plastic Surgeon, because it doesn't only implicate
the stretching of excess skin but also the management of tissues that are found under the skin, to
obtain a satisfactory, natural and lasting result, until now a process better than the Rhytidectomy
doesn't exist to improve the facial aspect. The correct patients for this type of surgery are those with
loose skin, multiple wrinkles and an aspect of tiredness in there face, most part of these patients are
between the ages of 50 and 65 years old, but there can also be patients up to 80 years old.
These procedure is done with local anesthesia and sedation or also with general anesthesia, the
surgery lasts around 2 or 3 hours and it can be done with blepharoplasty and fat fillers to compliment
the facial rejuvenation. In an ambulatory surgery, the recovery can vary, but generally in 2 days the
patient is fine. Almost all of the patients return to their normal lives in 10 days of two weeks after
surgery, with only minimal care such as not exposing themselves to the sun and avoiding physical
efforts, etc.
