The tummy tuck surgery is done frequently to take away the excess skin and fat built up in the
lower part of the abdomen, same which can't be eliminated with exercise and diet. This is also done
on patients that have lost a great amount of weight or have been pregnant. The technique consists
of a transversal incision that passes over the pubis, the excess skin and fat that is under the
bellybutton is taken away, the abdominal muscles are tightened by suture in order for them to be
reinforced and the waist is narrowed.
Liposculpture is recommended to create a contour to the rest of the abdomen and back and we can
also use that fat to infiltrate it in the buttocks to give it shape and volume.
The abdominoplasty takes 1:30 hours and it's done in the operating room with epidural block and
sedation or with general anesthesia, it's ambulatory and sick leave may be from 10 to 14 days.
